Help with SPID 1970 Jimmy
Having recently sold my corvette I am looking at a 1970 GMC jimmy and I could use some help with some of the option codes.
The SPID has the code 4687CM Red Vinyl trim. Does this meam that the all the interior seats \ door panels would have been red? Currently the interior is all in black. Also the jimmy has has one repaint about 15 years ago but I am not sure it is the correct code 514 light red. On the SPID someone has written in pen Paint FK 71. Does this mean anything to anyone. The SPID appears to me to have a lot of options. Is this a higher optioned build? |

Yes, that would have been the interior. That Jimmy looks familiar. Is that owned by a lawyer? I bought a top off a Jimmy about 12 years ago from a guy in calgary who got tired of taking it off and put a soft top on it.

Re: Help with SPID 1970 Jimmy
I am not sure if he is a lawyer but the story sounds about right as he told me he got tired of taking it off and just sold it. Is the top white? It is unfoutunate that he sold it as they are hard to come by around here.
Overall it's in good shape but what concerns me is that I am not sure that the color is right. Been down that road with a corvette that was repainted in a non-OEM color and the seller did not know the paint code. The vette got hit in a parking lot and after 3-4 repaints the color hever did match to my liking. Ended up repainting the whole car after a while. |

That's a nice looking 2wd Jimmy.
Be sure to check the windshield frame and torsion boxes for rust. Also check the front passengers side fender cup (in front of wheel) and the radiator support under the battery tray. These are areas many people will not repair correctly. Good luck, Rg

Yes it was nice. I remember him just having it painted. The top was repainted black and the interior red. It's still red which looks funny with my blue interior. Real nice guy to deal with. I think his name was Neil. Good luck.

Does the color look right for 514 Light red?
