crew cab 4wd
what do i need to do to convert my 82 2wd dually to 4wd drive single wheel. i have the axles. just wanting to know bout the frame and such

diy4x4 has a kit for this. look in the offroad section and you'll find a world of info.

You're looking to turn your 2wd into a 4x4, right? it should be the B-52's that you can use to swap to 4x4. Shoot them a message. I've never delt with them personally, but I've heard they are more than helpful.

The kit that diy makes will work with 52" rear springs and give a 4" lift(from what I'm told) I would use that and get 4" rear blocks or springs (preferably) and you'll also need all the obvious stuff that a 4x4 is lacking; drive shafts, transfer case, etc. Also the pitman arm is different on a 4x4 so you'll have to change that.
Keep in mind I have never done this, but I have looked into it. You will probably come across some things that I haven't though of or seen since I haven't done it. Your best bet is to dig in the 4x4 section i know there are threads in there of guys doing exactly this. find one of them and ask them the particulars. They will be able to elimnate mor surprises than anyone else.

yeah. pitman arm? and if i wanted to lift it 12 inches could i use 1/2 tons 4wd springs? cause i have a set
