practice makes... hmmmm?

Josh (My New 72 ) came over and sliced up my dash this afternoon and let me do a little practicing on his truck. I'm no where near being a pro yet... hurts being a perfectionist.

here's a few shots of the mess I made.

Thanks Josh!

needs filler:

shot of all three...

wish my truck was as far along as Josh's

Hmmm, I'm missing Tx looking at your outdoor photos...you wouldn't want to see my truck right now...all covered with salt and ice.
I wouldn't call that a mess that you made, a light coat of plactic filler and some sandpaper, and you'll be ready for primer on thre.

thanks,

Yes I love the weather here. I still need ALOT of practice with the mig. I lived up to my namesake on this one... I got a little grinder happy and ground a spot a little thin... then went to touch it up with the mig and ate a huge hole that I had to fill. I have this welding bug bad now... I may start practicing on junk just for the experience.

I think that would be a good idea. Start cutting peices out of that donor door and welding them back in, that should help you out alot. Did you get the stereo wired in today? I'm a little under the weather, so I got squat done today. I'm putting the seatbelts in tomorrow. Thanks again for the welding, maybe next time I'll try my hand at it a bit. I can't do any worse. lol

who know's you might be a natural... Yeah I got the stereo in. I'm quite thrilled with it. I put the 2 4" speakers where the single dash speaker goes and the 6x9's are up against the seats...sounds good. I'll post a picture after they get downloaded... I can't find the camera.

Sweet. Yeah I was told that I am a natural with a stick, but I think the Mig might be a little different story. Who knows, I might be.
