make a blazer out of a truck

I may be guilty of over simplifying but all it would take is a few cuts and some welds and my 72 c-10 could be a blazer! The frame would have to be reworked to be more car like and I would have to reinforce the portion of the cab that the door closes against and the rear fenders would weld up to. Has any one successfully pulled this off?

Kurt - I think they used a Suburban to pull that off - I recall seeing it - but never saw it get finished (I could very well be wrong though).

Can't find the build thread - maybe somebody else can...

Re: make a blazer out of a truck

The biggest obstacle would be the step up from the cab to the bed floor and the rear door pillars. There was a build where someone converted a truck cab and used it on a blazer, but he started with a blazer and had those parts so he didn't have to fabricate them from scratch.

I'm thinking it was a guy who got suspended from the site...

I remeber that one too but I'm 99.9% sure there was a guy who started with a truck who set out the do the same thing, been awhile though.

ner0 - I guess more searching is in order.

Re: make a blazer out of a truck

I had a neighbor years ago that had done one like that.

It had kind of a funny bend in the middle, right behind the cab.

Re: make a blazer out of a truck

with the exception of the wheels, that crew cab looks like it came from the factory!
