Re: heater problems..help
sounds like either there is a wiring issue or there is an issue with a connection id start there and work my way back to a blower fan relay, as long as the alternator is good and there is no charging issue where the voltage drops at idle so that it doesnt get enough juice to spin the blower motor

Re: heater problems..help
Sounds to me like the fan isn't running at all, or maybe just on low...you're getting some air when driving from the wind pushing it in.
I'm assuming you've already checked the fuse? Check the blower resistor and its plug; they're bad about rusting and overheating and making poor connection. It'll be about a five wire plug onto a diamond shaped gizmo (the blower resistor) mounted to the a/c suitcase over by the right hood hinge. The resistor is held into the suitcase with two hex head self tapping screws. Take it out of the suitcase and inspect it...there are three resistors on the part if I recall. If any of them is broken or if any of them has broken loose from its terminal, you need to replace the assembly; they're made of nichrome wire and you can't solder them. Make sure the terminals are clean and making good contact with the connector. If you still have problems, it's probably the dash switch. Post your progress and we'll help. Travis |
