Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

I'm hoping after I clear that I can clear the auto shift linkage... if you guys have pics of this specific area that would be great.

No offense, but that is a serious fire hazard.

I think you should double check that you have the right headers for your setup. Seems way out of whack to me.

Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

don't worry it'll be getting a thorough cleaning then I'll track down and fix any leaks. The headers are cc10's on a 400sbc and 350 trans. From what I've read on here these are the right headers?

Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

the 3's are the shorty block hugger style but the CC10's are actually the chevelle style that everyone uses for our trucks that are lowered, I just haven't heard of anyone having clearance issues with the trany. ECE sell the CC10's specifically for the sbc C/10 trucks.

Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

I'm running Sandersons but I can't remember which ones I have. I have a 350/350 combo and yes, they are pretty close to the trans. In fact I don't think the trans would come out without removing both headers, but I used 2.25" exhaust tubing and routed it around the linkage with no problems. I built my exhaust myself using mandrel bent elbows from ebay, and straight tubing from a local exhaust shop. This is the only pic that I have handy. This is before I built the exhaust.

Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

What size collector do your headers have? Mine are 2.5".

Re: Sanderson headers and transmission clearance.. pics

Here's mine. I didn't use collectors, I just had the 2.25" tubing expanded to 2.5" at a local exhaust shop, then welded it straight to the bolt on collector flange.
