Using a TH400 column with a 700R4?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if a column from a 3 speed auto will wrk on a 4 speed tranny? I'm going to use a column for a 60's-70's truck inmy 56 but I want the shifter on the column and I'm using a 700R4.

Thanks,
Sam

It will work but the selector will not line up with the indicator on the OD down to L1

Ok but if I replace the indicator window with a OD one would that help or is it still going to be off? For example the ones that flaming river and ididit sell seem to have the letters closer.
