spindle/hub swaps.. for the 1000th time

hey kids, i did a thread search and cant quite find what im looking for.

ive got a 70 LWB C10. manual drums.

i want to put the 5 lug spindles on the front but i dont want to upgrade the brakes or anything. just change the wheel pattern.
in my head its as simple as a hub and drum swap.
what is the wheel pattern anyway for the 5 lugs?

the reason is i got a sweet set of 15x5 et mags that i think are 5 on 4 3/4 and some nylon coil spacers

the rear ill leave 6 lug,

any ideas?

Re: spindle/hub swaps.. for the 1000th time

im pretty sure when you go disc, you need to add a power booster.
and you will need to change the proportioning valve.

oh and you will need to swap to 71/72 balljoints and tie-rods, and i believe drag link as well.

im sure someone will chime in...

Re: spindle/hub swaps.. for the 1000th time

Discs don't need power boosters, they've made millions without from the factory.
He specificly said he does NOT want to swap the brakes.
you won't find any truck 5 lug drum stuff... not GM stuff anyways.
GM truck 5 lug stuff was 5 on 5.
You have car wheels.

Re: spindle/hub swaps.. for the 1000th time

so any 67-72 5 lug stuff was disk brakes only huh?
AND the patterns wrong... bummer.

gotta swap spindles and all to get the 5 lug on the front dont I.

Id still like to try it.

i got the wheels and tires for a song(a sliding rear window to be exact)

i may still try to go thru with it and find another set of wheels.

I finished doing what your trying about a month ago and its fairly simple. If possible find you a donor 71-72 2wd truck for parts.
