My 71 Custom Camper

Here's my newest old truck, picked it up today. It's in decent shape, it should make a good daily driver, tow vehicle, parts runner. It has a 305, th350 tans. Now here's the question-the fender says the original motor was a 402. The SPID says it came with a 350. What gives?
The next question is the truck has a single fuel tank. Whats odd is theres a lever on the drivers side, next to the seat in the cab. It's a 3 way valve for fuel. Only 2 sides are used currently. Ever seen this before?

fender badges come off with 2 nuts.

If the VIN is the same on the SPID then I`d say someone had put a 402 in it when it got fixed up and it ended up with a 305.Has it been painted?I can see some things were done along the way.The mirrors aren`t listed on the SPID and the thing about the gas tanks, too.Look up under the besides and see i the fuel doors were filled in.Maybe the bed was changed.

Re: My 71 Custom Camper

Well after looking, the VIN on the truck, and the VIN on the SPID don't match. Is there a number in the vin that will tell you the original motor size? I don't think the truck has been painted, the bed is suspect though, as there is some reddish color showing here and there where the paint is worn.

Next question-I want to lower this thing, I lower everything I own. From what I've learned, the 1/2 tons and 3/4 don't interchange. Are the front control arms the same between the two?
