billet grille questions

ok some random questions...
1st. on the early design hood releases, how do you get to the latch?
2nd. the ones in lmc have 17 bars, 15 look to be the same length and the bottom 2 seem shorter. does anyone have the length of these bars?
I'm trying to do a bit of research, I plan on making my own grille like the horizontal bar billet grille, but I don't have $170 to spend on something I might screw up. at least this way I'm pissing away the school money
thanks!

Re: billet grille questions

On the show Gearz the guy bolted a longer rod to the actual latch, and it dropped it down to behind the bumper. That way you could use a billet grill, and still access the hood latch. It was a pretty cool idea.

Don't know the length on the bars.
