looking to do a frame swap on a 53, the truck was free and I can get a running 93 Isuzu Hombre that is already bagged for $800. are the frames the same as the S10? the trucks look the same

I read somewhere that the trucks were "95% the same." The obvious differences were trim, interior pieces, tail lights (I think), and maybe cheaper suspension pieces. But the actual frame, drive train, and wiring should be the same. I think they're even assembled in the same plants...

But I dont know for sure....

They are the same. It is basicaslly an S-10 with a few different pieces on the body. They are probably made in the same plant. It's just a division of GM. Kinda like the Mazda B2300 and the Ford ranger, and Mitsubishi Mighty Max and the Dodge D-50. Same trucks, just different badging, headlights, and such.

I went to look at it yesterday, the 93 model is not the same. the later models are. so still on the search for a donor.
