Exclamation 1970 C10 powered by a 6.6 Duramax Diesel at SEMA!!!!

This is an amazingly sanitary conversion. It is a 1970 Chevrolet C-10 with a 6.6L Duramax Diesel dropped into the engine bay. Pacific Performance Engineering is the company responsible for this beast, as they stroked this engine up to 700 Horsepower, installed an Allison 6 Speed Automatic, and a few performance upgrades including an upgraded cooling system, transmission upgrade kit, and a water cooled turbo kit

PPE did a series of quarter mile runs, with timing results of 10.53 seconds, recording a run of 132 MPH. The truck’s exterior remains virtually stock, keeping this ride under the radar, unless you notice the monster tailpipe in the back.

WOW!!!

I want to see the frame reinforcements. I would think they would need at least a 3/4 ton.

Looks like it left the factory like that. I love the craftsmanship on display at SEMA.

These trucks don't qualify for emissions... so I bet it could be tuned to see some really nice numbers!

But those #'s would be my guess as to what it might get.

That truck was in one of the Diesel magazines a few months back, very clean, and yes it looks like the factory built it.

I would like to know if they had to make any firewal mods to fit that in there. It looks like you can only see half of the motor from the engine compartment.

If I had to guess, it was more than $30k.

Thanks for the pics!

My gawd!!! Instant chubness! My dream truck would be a 72 CS 3/4 4x4 with that drive train.

35 k for an 09 reg cab long box off the showroom floor. You'd think that you could build one for that huh? That's the kind of thinking that could get a guy in trouble quick.

But the Dmax will last longer and would have a lot better pulling torque than a gas motor. And a lot better gas milage/power.
