Anybody running a ZZ4 and short water pump?
I recently purchased a ZZ4 for my 72 with plans on running all original brackets for AC, PS, and ALT, which require a short water pump. However the composite timing cover on the ZZ4 is too thick and won't allow the short pump to fit. I thought I could use a standard steel timing cover, but the bolt patterns are completely different. I've spent a lot of time and money tracking down the correct brackets and pullies to go the original route, so I'd hate to bail now. Anybody run into this problem and what did you do?

The pictures that I've found on the web show two completely different bolt patterns. One has 8 bolts the other 12. Are you running this set-up?

Tim, is that a cast iron or aluminum pump? Do you know the manufacturer? I tried to put my cast iron pump on there last night and it definitely won't fit. One of the bolts on the timing cover prevents a flush fit.
