drip rail deflector
Can some one tell me where the drip rail deflectors bolt to and where. I am putting on a hard top that has not been on in a long time with new gaskets the details do show how they go.

Re: drip rail deflector
The screw into the windshield pillar between the door and the pillar. Their should be 2 small holes there. From their, attach to the top. The wide part of the drip rail deflector is on the top with the lip on the outside facing up to form a continuation of the drip rail.
item #14 in the image.

Re: drip rail deflector
Hey guys,
I have asked this one before and never got a clear answer so I came up with my own conclusion. There is no way my '70 ever had them and even if I tried to drill the holes and mount them they wouldn't fit. I will probably get proven wrong but I believe those deflectors are for a single-wall top only. I got a look at Turp McSprays single wall top and it has an area where they appear to fit. My double-wall top has no provision in it for them to mount. Later---DAC

Re: drip rail deflector
Thanks guys i found where on my 71 blazer there are 2 holes on my door frame that looks to fit this one has a double wall top but i never put it on. the 70 gmc that had a single wall i do not find any holes. So maybe it doesnt come with any or the doors were changed with truck doors i looked at the old single wall and someone has put rubber where i think they would go.

Re: drip rail deflector
I think the holes you are talking about are something else, the two small holes for the deflector will be in the windshield frame and not the doors. The deflector actually mounts to the top and windshield frame only

Re: drip rail deflector
Check out this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=310921 I asked the same question a while back; there are a few good pics of them installed.
I couldn't tell any difference in the leakiness of the top in that area after installing them...I say put that $30 in the gas tank & go riding on a pretty day!

Re: drip rail deflector
I wouldn't doubt if the drip rail deflectors were an afterthought as an attempt to prevent leaks. All three Blazers I have owned have had them, including my 69, but it someone could have added them.
