Hi i have a 1969 GMC 3/4ton and i dont think i have a kickdown cable on it.Is there a kick down cable even available for my truck.

What transmission are you running? If it's a TH400, the kickdown is electric.

Yes I have the THM400 transmission....so the kick down cable is electric were is it located..I have a edelbrock 4 barrel carb

I believe the switch in '69 would have been on the carb. There's a little electrical connector on the driver's side of the transmision that it would have been wired to. There's a also an orange wire I believe in the engine bay for 12 volts, though any 12 volt key on source will work.
Lokar makes a TH400 kickdown setup that I'm running. Works pretty well, though a little pricey.

You can also use a nitrous oxide full throttle micro switch and bracket bolted to the carb to activate the kickdown at full throttle. About $15. Much cheaper than the other alternatives, like Lokar, B&M, oem, etc.

Factory setup is a switch that sends 12 volts to the transmission at WOT. The Lokar setup is a cable operated switch that does the same. Here's a link to the Lokar kickdown switch. You'll need their throttle cable bracket as well. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LO...s/?prefilter=1

Don't know if the factory switch that John posted a pic of will work with an Edelbrock carb. I would just spring for the Lokar switch and bracket and be done with it.

The Lokar set up is a cable operated switch. Bracket hooks to the carb, cable hooks to the carb. Switch box goes down on the frame next to the transmission, there's holes in the frame already. 12 volts to the switch box, wire from the switch box to the transmission. Takes about 30 minutes to install. I'll try and get some pics.

1st pic: cable at the carb with bracket, You have to order the bracket separately. 2nd pic: Switch box mounted to driver's side frame, directly across from the transmission.
