4 headlight rewiring?

I searched all over and couldn't find both setups. I wanted to do the upgrade with relays to make my lights brighter and also wire the lows to turn on with the highs.
Can anybody help me?

Re: 4 headlight rewiring?

On 81-87 4 headlight systems, when the highs are on all 4 lights should be on...

Re: 4 headlight rewiring?

If you want to wire up a realy simple take the wires coming from the switch and put them to the seleniod side of the realay and put the bulb wiring to the contact side. Add power and ground and you're done, sorry I don't have a schematic. does this make the headlights that much brighter?

The brighter is in the brand and wattage of the bulbs that you use. Also the direct wiring of the relays to the battery for power will give you a full 12 volts and not the degraded voltage that comes through the light switch.

Re: 4 headlight rewiring?

I like simple and would wire the low beams directly to an ignition switched power source. This would give you day time running lights and Low/High joint operation.

The diagram above works also, although it is not very precise. the idea is to take the switching power going into the high beam and bring it over to the low beam relay to activate it at the same time. The reason for the diode is so that power doesn't flow from the low beam to the high beam. This would cause you high beams to come on with your low beams.
