Rocker Stud Pulling Out...HELP!

I have a couple of rocker studs pulling out of my 4.1L Inline 6...what can be done? Is there anyway of putting new regular studs in so that they'll hold, or will the holes need to be drilled and threaded studs put in? Help me out please!! I've had it apart and put back together like twice and the studs keep backing out...We had pondered lock tite on them but I seriously doubt this is a permanent or even temporary fix....I really need my truck back but it keeps being one thing after another...is it worth fixing, or should I just replace the head?

Re: Rocker Stud Pulling Out...HELP!

You can knock them back down flush with the others and then drill the head and stud to place a 1/8" roll pin thru or they make or used to make a stud that you could thread the old hole and install with lock tight. I never used the threaded stud but did see them in machinist engine parts catalogs ten years ago when I used to do such work.

Re: Rocker Stud Pulling Out...HELP!

In the past we've always took the heads and had screw in studs installed. It was always pretty cheap. If you have a decent Bridgport, you could probably do it yourself.
