Those who have installed Vintage Air please look

I have searched but cannot find a solid answer to this. When installing a vintage air kit into a 72 that ORIGINALLY had factory A/C, what all "vents" can be welded up. I'm pretty sure that the kick panel vents by your feet along with the old fan hole on the firewall are no longer used. Also, what about the cowl area where the original fresh/recirculate flap was, can I weld that area up to keep leaves and dirt from gathering down there again? I think the answer to all of this is YES, I am just hoping to hear from someone who has actually done this conversion. Thanks.

Yes but, You could use a screen under the cowl because the other side is wide open too.

I actually do have a nice set of those screens that I found on my parts truck. I was considering welding up the other side to match so we would never have that rust problem again. Any thoughts?

I would just run the screens. You'll also be able to keep an eye on it, if it's left open.

The water has to go somewhere , the biggest problem is all the debris that is down there already unless you have cleaned it out.

Oh yeah, we've already crossed that bridge. That's what got me thinking about it in the first place.
