WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

This may be a long shot and the price may be more than I anticipate but...I presently have a looking gas cap and I want to go back to a stock gas cap. I have been told the repops are not exactly like the original. Thanks in advance.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

For my 68 burb. Had to order it. 68 didnt show up in the books or computer. But 71 did. Fits like a glove.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

It is my understanding the repops are smooth and do not have the original ribs on the edges like the original. Also I think the 69-70 uses different caps verses 71-72. I might be wrong ...Thanks for the info fine69 ... I can go this route until I come across an original.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

It's funny you posted this, I have an origional one with the ribs on the sides and all smooth on the outside, that came off my Auxillary tank and I cleaned it up last night, and it fits my truck perfectly. I have a 72, but don't know if it will fit yours. Maybe you can ask on the board if they are the same. I believe it is stainlees steel. I will be selling it and posting it when I get pics of it. If you want it, it will be $100 plus shipping.Thank you.

The CST optioned trucks came with SS ribbed caps. It is my understanding the 69-70 caps are differrent then the the 71-72 caps. The repop caps are all smooth.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

Bill will take care of you. I have two that I am undecided on using. Both are AC Delco with the ribbs. One has a sticker on it with the pressure warning while the other has the warning embossed. I am guessing that these are two versions that AC Delco made with the embossed version being replaced by the cheaper sticker version...I could be wrong, though. I have been told that the 71/72 has a different size filler neck, but I don't know if that is true.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

My repop has the ridges around the edge. It is on a 72 3/4 ton, but it is a vented tank (they used the same tanks as yours did). The 1/2 ton 71-72's are different (non-vented cap used) and the necks are slightly different, and a different gasket is used as well. $7 at the truck shop.

Ok...here is what I have been told...the filler neck is different beween the 69-70 and the 71-72 model years. Also did the 70 take vented or non vented?

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

Okay I will jump in too. I have an NOS GM stainless steel cap in the box. It has ridges on the edge and two circles indented on the face. I know it fits our trucks I just don't know which years. The part number is 6263474 and the words "pressure vacuum" are stamped on the inside of the cap. If someone can check the part number that would be great.

Re: WTB NOS Gas cap for a 69-70 C10

Based on the way I read the interchange manual (they do not come right out and say it) if it was emmisioned/ smog equipped it was non vented
Other wise it was a vented assembly
looks like 70 was a transition year and the trucks were built both ways

Downtown,
According to my parts book 6263474 is listed for 72 ser. 10, Blazer. I am not if thats 72 1/2 ton trucks and or just Blazer

If it is for a 72 Truck and you are wanting to sell it I would be interested as long as it's not what 70cst needs.

72 SUPER

It won't work for 70CST. The guy I bought it from said it was for a 72, but I was not sure. If it was any other year I would sell it, but 72 is what I need.
Hopefully it does fit the 1/2 ton.
