Re: Want to see Pics with Camper Shells.......

Dude if the priceis right pic it up. I had one similar to that on mine and I loved ahving the extra head room while loading/unloading. Having a 8 foot long trunk is awesome. plus with the taller camper I could still have pallets forked into the back.

Re: Want to see Pics with Camper Shells.......

Rick, I know it's not a Chevy, but this is a good setup I used to have. I wish I could find another topper like this.

And here's a Chevy dually with one similar to my old one.

Re: Want to see Pics with Camper Shells.......

Here's my current setup:

I love having the shell on there, for the covered and safe storage space. I like the one being considered for the Dually in the original post, having that rise in the roof will be nice for you. I wish that newer ones were still designed with that, you don't see too many anymore these days that depart from the cab height, which looks too low IMO.

Re: Want to see Pics with Camper Shells.......

mine came off a ford and it fits pretty good, just have to squeeze the rear together to get the glass to shut tight.that could be because it sat upside down in the woods for probably 10 years though!

Suburbans are fine. Many truck owners like the option of open bed and/or having a dry, secure cargo area. I need both and a topper provides that. Like many others I have no problem pulling it off when I need to. I make all my trucks go "topless" from time to time!

Wow with that being a single wheel 1 ton and with the camper shell it makes the truck look even longer than it really is.

That's what I was thinking, too. I think the single side window is what creates that illusion.

OK, but have no plans to unless for some reason I lose the service of the truck, LOL!!!

What about it do you like? It has no real markings as to who made it or where it came from, I've always been curious.

Re: Want to see Pics with Camper Shells.......

Look at my post at the top of this thread. It is the same topper I had on my Dodge, just a different color. Mine said TRAVA-CAP across the top above the door.

Ah, I see. Well not LITERALLY since links to photobucket and several hosting sites are blocked when in on board from work, like now. I'll try and remember to come back and check out your Dodge pic.

This one has no brand markings, inside or out. But I do really like the styling on it, and it's held up well, until the color finally faded out pretty seriously this past year. I've had to replace the rubber seal between cap and cab a couple times, that never seems to last very long for some reason. I've re-done the screens behind the sliding windows, and added the 'limo-tint' to darken up the glass on sides and rear. Hit the porthole windows with some plastic polish and they really had a nice shine again. Added some caulking at the gaps in the window weatherstrip to keep the rain out. Oh yeah, replaced the struts on the rear door, and replaced the lock mechanism too. Guess I've tinkered with the TOPPER itself almost as much as the TRUCK, LOL!!!!!
