Looks like the windshield says $1000.00 Then again, the pics were from 2 years ago.

Those are probably pictures from when they bought it. It is "more valuable" now.

Re: North texas: 1971 Craiglist Motor Home

If it's stock, even with a 400 in it, the power to weight ratio would SUCK! I'd have a built 454 with as many gears as I could afford behind it (5 speed O/D with a Gear Vendors and 4.56 rear end would be my first thought). Could be a cool ride if you have the gumption to work on something like that. Who knows what the interior is like...

I saw that one on the side of the road this summer. From what I saw driving by it, it looked pretty good. I ddint stop cause I was on a long trip, but I will swing by there around Thanksgiving on my way back to Dallas and see if its still there and take some pics if anyone wants me to.

I love it except for the fact that I'd want it just for a dually & they cut that big hole in the rear cab wall on those campers.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: North texas: 1971 Craiglist Motor Home

These rigs are pretty nice if they have been well-kept. I would like to know if it is clean and tight and what engine and trans are in it -not that I need one - have two 72s here and both are very nice going down the road. One is a SB350 with T400 and the other is a BB402 with 4 speed manual. The latter does a bit better on the hills, but the 350 pushes the other one quite well. Not all of these chassis mount campers had the back and roof of the cab cut out for access, but mine do. This leads to a question because I would like to convert one. Anyone have info or good ideas how to deal with that cutout when converting to another use - say, maybe, a hauler? Thanks for any ideas. CCCC

find a donor cab and take what you need from it.

I found one about 40 miles from me that came out here from Cali about 5 years ago. The sheet metal is very nice on it but the camper is junk. 402/TH400 in it. I stopped at the house but the guy wasn't home. I talked to his granddaughter (I think) about it but she didn't know a lot about it. Odometer showed 74,000 mi. I need to go back and check on it again.

Forgot to add: It was cut but only from the top of the back window to about the roof seam.

Re: North texas: 1971 Craiglist Motor Home

Mine is cut from the bottom of the back window down about 18". With only 52,000 miles on the 402/auto it is a sweet ride.
