clutch question
Hey guys,
Got a question for some of you that may have run into this. I am putting a '65 250 straight six in my '53. I have the correct bell housing and the only thing left is to wonder what size clutch will fit on my original three speed. I have the clutch for the 250 but I have no idea what size clutch is on the 216 currently in my truck. I believe it is a 9" but im not sure. Will a clutch disk from the 250 fit on my three speed is the question?

Re: clutch question
It may. slide the disc on the input shaft and see. If its ok use all the 250 stuff. I would be more concerned with the trans fitting the bell.

Re: clutch question
I am going through this now with my 235 striaght 6 swap back into my 50 3100. When I bought it, it had a worn out 60's 235. I found a good running '61 235 to put back into it. The clutch I pulled out was 9 1/8" so thats what I am putting back into it. I have a 4speed on the floor and am keeping my floor stomp starter, and reusing my old bell housing.
I would be willing to take pics of anything for you if you want. I have most of it sitting in my garage waiting for me to install the clutch which should be delivered today.

Re: clutch question
I think things will be a little different for your swap since you are using a later model 230-250 block. If you were going to swap a 261 or a 235 the blocks are similar and my pics maybe a little more helpful. But I will take them, as I was going to post it anyways!
