np205 to TH350

I have 74 chevy pickup and it had a np205 in it factory and it now has a 203 that doesn't work worth S**t. Anyways I want to put a 205 back in it and need to know what I would have to do. Obviously I need the transfer case, but can I use my old adaptor? Do I need different crossmembers? Any info would be appreciated.

Ya gotta have the adapter for the th350/NP205 combo. Dont know about the crossmember. If it used to have a 205, hopefully they used the old crossmember and made it fit the 203.

Cross member is the same. Along with the adapter for the 350 you will need the case with 27 splines not the 32 spline that is mated to the th400

Re: np205 to TH350

I know to look for the 27 spline but the 205 that I took out had a double crossmember type a deal with one on the top frame rail and one on the bottom frame rail. If I remember right there's also a coupler sleever that you need to right?

Re: np205 to TH350

The coupler "should" be in the adapter.

Is this what you mean about a double crossmember type deal?

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.
