Question El camino question

I have a friend that has a 76 El Camino was curious if the heater boxes in engine bay were the same as the trucks or were they the same as the cars. I am looking for one with out the A/C and cant find one local and hoping GM recycled parts on these

El caminos started life as a station wagon and they cut off the roof so I would guess that they use the car
