cab swap ??

I was wondering what the differances between the 1967 cab and front clip. I wanted to put a 1971 cab and front clip on the 1967 chassis? Will this work?, with out to many problums ? both cabs are from trucks with manuel transmission, no A/C but the 1971 is 2wd and the 1967 is 4X4. any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance, Landon

Lets see, the only thing you may have a problem with is the parking brake. The cable may be the same length...may not. (67 has hand brake...72 has foot brake)
You'll want to use the cab mounts from the 67 as the 4X4 mounts are taller than 2 wheel drive (2 wheel drive only 1/2 ton) trucks.

The 4x4 cab will have a high hump, and the 2wd cab will have a low hump unless it came with a 4spd tranny. By hump i mean the bump in the middle of the cab floor that the tranny is under. The low hump is about 4" high, and the high hump is around 6". If the '71 cab has a low hump, i would just cut it out and weld in the high hump out of the other cab.
Good luck!

I read they were both stick shift and thought of a 4 speed instantly (which would be a high hump).
Forgot all about the throttle deal.

I may have worded that funny up there.
!/2 ton 2 wheel drive have short cab mount bushings.
All the other trucks, 1/2 ton 4X4, 3/4 ton both C and K, and one ton, all had the taller bushings.
