Some Progress

Thanks to our weird weather, yesterday AM was 28, but got up in the mid 50's and today was 70. I keep forgetting how much dirt and junk these things can aquire. Finished cleaning up the rear half of the frame and rust preped it. Still have to clean the rear end,but I'll do that when I change the rear cover seal. Also finished cleaning one side of the front end and got an inital coating of paint on the front horns and right side. Not show quality, but a heck of a lot better than what it was.

You can sure eat up some wire wheels and wire brushes on this stuff.

Here is the passenger front side.

About 70-100 lbs lighter once the rust, gunk, mud dobbers, and mud are gone.

Last one. Cleaned and rust prepped the inside of both rear fenders also.

I just cleaned up the front part of my frame using a funky abrasive disk - not sure what the material is, but it is kind of an open weave - and it did a great job of breaking off the grime. I had first power washed and scraped off some of the heavy gunk - but this disk really worked well.
