When we redid my truck it had no vin plate on the door pillar so we took one off another truck. When we went into the Secertary of State (MI) DMV, BMV which ever your state uses. They had to generate a new title cause it was not on the national database. If you know its not stolen there is a form that a Sherrif can fill out to validate the VIN and make sure there is nothing wrong with it then take that to the DMV and they will issue a duplicate title or somin of that nature. Good luck that is the easyiest way i know of

Hemmings Motor News....

Go buy a copy of Hemmings off of a newstand. There will be a section in the magazine that will list a number of folks that offer the services that you need. Alabama has a number of folks that do that, somewhere in the $100-150 price range. In Arkansas, you can get a "Bonded Title" by buying a bond (price based on value of item you are trying to title), then submitting the bonded title application to the Motor Vehicle Division. They will do a search on the VIN. If it turns out that there is a problem, you would have to deal with them. In New York, don't know how you do it. So, get a copy of HMN and go from there.

Others on the board will also have helpful info.
