Hello everyone, still learning about these trucks so bare with me . I have a 1968 C-10 lwb, the cab on it has alot of rust on top corners , down on the cab corners and rocker's. My question: is there a difference on the cab body , roof , doors , rockers between the years 1968 to 1969-72. My friend has a good cab from a 1971. would this swap with my 68 still keeping the front end ? Any help would be great ! Thanks

In 1970 they went to a foot operated parking brake. The holes in the firewall are different for the older hand brake. I know there are other small differences like in the doors on the newer trucks but generally the cabs will swap out.

There are minor differences as has been mentioned. The gas pedal in the 71 is set up for a cable for the carb attachement.

Also the fuse box went from horizontal to vertical when they deleted the handbrake. '72s have the in/cab rearview mirror glued to the windshield. The later cabs have some fuel vapor relief vents inside the rear of the door frame.
Yes, a '71 cab will replace a '68 cab -- no appreciable differences.
