Looking for Rallye's

Right now I'm saving up my bucks for a set of Rallye's for my truck. LMC has exactly what I'm looking for but their price is ridiculous! With trim rings and caps it's almost a Thousand dollars! Also Summit didn't have what I wanted either. I'm looking for a reputable on-line store that sells quality discount wheels. What I want is a set of hubcentric 15 x 8" 6lug on 5.5" with stock offset (1" positive ok) in chrome with trim rings and plain "Baby moon" type center caps. I know they're not cheap, I just don't wanna get stung and get the best price that I can. This is not a WTB post, I'm just looking for suggestions as to where to look. Thanks, guys.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

I bought a set of off eBay, new Corvette style, 6 bolt, with caps and rings for $400. I had them shipped to my house. Worked out well.

I ended up with new wheels and tires for $1000.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-Corvette-Chev...item27acf5f20a

The centre caps and trim rings aren't top quality, but for my driver truck they looked great and worked well.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

I have the ebay ones too. I live in the south, so mine still look great after 3 years and maybe 10K miles worth of use. I did swap my rings last year for the skinneir ones (the chrome still looks good on them) and put new smooth caps on them (the ones I got with my auction were the plastic derby cabs, and yes, on them the chrome did start to go bad.)

I got a great deal on mine. I got mine for ~$350 shipped and I got my BFG tires on sale for a little over $300. Over 3 years later, prices are higher now.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

I bought a used set of OEM 6 lug ralleys for a $1 on Ebay once from a local guy in the Marines. Resold them for $80 after repainting them. Bought another set with almost new BFG 60 series tires and good trim rings for $260 from another local and the guy also gave me for free a new set of C10 emblems and misc weatherstripping. You can find good deals on the oem ralleys on EBay and CL if you wait long enough.

I checked the Summit catalog and they don't list them in chrome which is what I want. I'm looking for truck Rallye's.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

A 6-lug no more than $25 ea. Paint em' and run em'. To P/C or chrome em' is a waste on a stock wheel, because all you see is the center 3'' or 4'' with caps and rings. Besides people don't notice these anyway. But still the best lookin' wheel on a 67-72.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

I have not seen the truck rallys chromed either.

I think powder coaters can do a chrome like finish. I would suggest going to a wrecker and buying a set and then having them powder coated in the finish you want.

It can get pricey if you want a show finish and buy new trim rings and center caps. Or it can be quite economical if you find a decent used set and spray the wheels with a quick rattle can finish.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

If truck rally's are what you really want, they yeah, I'd keep an eye on craigslist, local yards, and the parts board on here. I was willing to pay good money for the vette rallys because the ones I wanted only exist in the aftermarket, lots of GM truck rallys out there to be had cheap...

I haven't seen them chrome either, but maybe an aftermarket company makes them???

Yea, I'll probably have to give up on the chrome and go with powder coat silver. As weasel29gm said you can hardly notice the chrome with the hubs and trim rings on anyway. Thanks guys for your input.

Re: Looking for Rallye's

You could always have them powdercoated chrome and run without the rings.
