ACC carpet for the Blazer - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

When I go online to look for carpet kit for the blazer 1970, I go to ACC web site and look it up and it is 432.00 but when I look in LMC or Classic industries, I see that hteir carpet is made by ACC and it is considerably less and I thought I was looking at the same stuff. Why? Am I missing something?

ACC has the carpet at their list price. The other vendors choose to retail it for less than MSRP.

Common practice for the manufacturer to do this. It provides your dealers an advantage over the factory and gives yoour company 'store fronts' to market your product.

I bought the rubber floor covering for my Blazer and noticed the same thing. It was cheaper through LMC than directly from ACC. I ordered from LMC and believe it's shipped out directly from ACC and comes in ACC packaging.

Just good business. As a manufacturer, you don't want to sell for less than your vendors. You set MSRP, which you will be happy to sell to individuals for, and you sell wholesale to your vendor allowing them to markup to a point that they see fit. You keep everybody happy (except maybe the individual who bought from the manufacturer.)
