Question 82 with Dana 44 and 12 Bolt?

Hey fellas I just bought a 1982 Silverado standard cab 8ft bed and it has a Dana 44 front and 12 bolt rear. The rear is a full Posi. The truck has a 396 in also. The truck used to be an Automatic buy has the 4sp and 205 Transfer case.

I know the 44 and 12 bolt were not offered in 82, but is there a vin number on the frame to see if the whole chassis was changed out? Does the Dana 44 have a gear ratio stamped on it? The truck is from Montana so it is in great shape.

Anything else I should look for on the truck?

Thanks fellas.

Very, very nice combo. If I had to bet $5 on the tranny, I'd guess SM465. All I'd be worried about is making sure the front and rear gear ratios are the same and not an item the PO "hadn't got around to". I'd rather have that set up than 3/4 ton running gear. Nice score.
