Picked up a 72 Burb

I picked this up today, well, paid for it. Will bring it home in a couple of weeks. Has the usual rust, but way way less than my panel had in it. Lift gate is actually not too bad, looks worse in the pics. Comes with a better lower gate. Has two gas tanks, two fillers side by side. No engine, but has a turbo 400 (not stock to the truck) The grill isn't good but the core support, hood, and fenders are all nice.

Plans are to keep the front sheet metal for my 71 K20. The K20 has rusty core support and the fenders were trimmed up a little to clear the last set of tires. Also a bunch of screw holes where the giant mud flaps were attached to the fenders.

Ill be using the frame for my panel instead of using the panels original frame. All the gas and brake lines are there. The later suspension is better etc etc. My panel frame is stripped bare of everything, and I accidentally tossed a bunch of the front suspension. So I think this will work nicely.

It also comes with a nice 68 nose (less the fender wells). Good hood, after market fenders, nice core support and nice front bumper.

Its coming straight to the house after a trip to the car wash to clean the grease off. Im going to mock up the Caddy engine and trans with the body on there. Then out to the farm to remove the body. Little more clean up and painting of the frame...toss the panel body on there and back home.

Hopefully, maybe, if I get up off my dead rear....Ill have the panel to drive this spring.

I might list the burb body and 68 nose together for sale after I pull the body...gonna be kind of hard to roll though without a chassis

Nice find. From what I can see the body is in great shape.

Re: Picked up a 72 Burb

Looks very solid compared to the burbs that you find in the Midwest. Congrats on a good purchase.
