Re: hid head lamps

Angel Eyes lights first appeared on BMW's and everyone and their dog copied it for a while. Over here its a bit like 6" fart can exhausts on 1.2L hatchbacks with lexus rear lights

Re: hid head lamps

I'll be running these on my 4-eyed freak (67 GMC). They are actually BMW E30 lamps with CCFL Halos and projector headlamps. I'll tap the Halo's into my driving light circuit and use the grill mounted indicators for turn signals only. I'll just use the H3 halogen bulbs for now, but might upgrade to the D2S HID's in the future. Running the 9007 / H4 HID kits in a free-form reflector w/ fresnel lens, such as the 7" Hella or Cibie units, is a waste of $$$ IMO. HID is most effective when the light can be tightly focused where it's needed.....a non-faceted reflector and light "scattering" lens just won't do that. Sure it'll "look" all bluey and hi-tech, but the actual light on the road will be less. If you don't have the duckets to pony up to the 7" projectors like in the 2nd. pic., then your best bet is to run some Silverstars in you H4 buckets and do the H/L Relay upgrade.

Re: hid head lamps

actually using a reflector type housing over a projector style one will light up the road in front of you and the on coming traffics better then a projector. the reflector housing "scatters" the light all over the road and in turn blinding every other driver on the road. projectors place the light beam directly in front of you and no where else. the hids on my truck light up the road better than my friends e36 with factory hids.
