1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
Just picked up a 1967 GMC 1/2 ton with quite the option package 351 V6, TH400, Speedminder dash, Power steering (ram set-up), 3.54 axle, Panoramic cab, etc. Looking for some help in coming up with fair prices for parts. The speedminder dash and power steering parts in particular. Thanks, Sharpie

Re: 1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
What color is it?I see it says Special Paint. It looks Palamino Tan.What are the door panels like?
That`s a leaf rear, right? Is it a Dana44 or 60? The speedminder dash would be $250-300 w/o tach. The 351 complete should bring $300-$500. The ram steering is worth a couple hundred or more.Car guys buy them, too.

Palamino tan sounds right. The original door panels are gone. The one arm rest and the buddy bucket strap are usual silver/tan 67 color. VIN starts with CM. Canadian truck maybe? Sharpie

Re: 1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
Here`s a little tidbit, the "M" is for V6.You know only a few V8s found their way into GMCs at the end of`67?So,that 351 was the big motor through`67.It was even bigger than the big V8 in Chevys (327).
Is the paint kinda pinkish/flesh colored?The`67 front clip that got my project was a Palamino Tan Super Custom from just into Nebraska. The guy I bought it from was from Wyoming. Not that unusual,I guess. But,I get a kick out of the smallest things.

Re: 1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
Yep, that's the color. We already nicknamed her "Pinkie". Funny I had a 67 Chevy with a 327. 46,000 original miles/ I didn't believe the miles until I saw that it came with a 5:13 Locker. Could barely tell if that motor was running or not, it was so smooth. Thanks for the "M" tidbit. Most of my books concentrate on Chevy's.. Little tougher to track down info. on the GMC's. This on has some rather interesting firewall markings, including misspelled "suport" Later, Sharpie

The power steering pump and it's mount are getting hard to find.Fit all GMC v/6 engines I believe. So is the alternator mount.
I'd like to see where the 400 trans mounts to the engine if you get it out. Also keep the auto column and pedals. Mike. |

Re: 1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
I'm also curious about the bellhousing. Does anyone know if the V6 is the standard GM pattern? I'm assuming it is. Also is the flex plate special for the V6? I'm guessing it's an internal balance motor. I've never seen much literature on these. Thanks, Sharpie

The bellhousing pattern is specific to the GMC engines.
I haven't looked at my flywheel though. I'm wanting to go with an auto in my 64,GMC,but keep the 351. Mike. |

Looked like there might be an adapter involved according to the 60-66 site. Sharpie

Re: 1967 GMC speed minder 351 V6 PS 354 gears
Hey Dennis, I have seen them sale for anywhere from $250-325 w/o tach. I am in desperate need of one of those cables, there weren't very many speed warning setups it seems in Kansas. Hope this helps ya. Tim is on the right track though. Trevor

Are going to post for sale on this site or ebay-craigslist. I might have interest in some of the V6 equipment.

Most likely right here, but would like a fair price range on V6 parts. Thanks, Sharpie

Speed warning with the cable, buzzer and harness. You are looking at 200-300 depending on the color cond. of the gauge faces.
