Rubber Bed Mat
Anyone know where to buy a bed mat for a short box fleetside truck. My bed is not yet beat up or dented and I would like to keep it that way. Thanks in advance.

Buy a universal one for about $75 and cut it to fit.

Forget the rubber mat or the plastic drop in. Spend the extra for a quality spray in, NO rust and dirt underneath it,good shops can match colors. You won't regret it.

The mats are still good to have. I've had one in every truck I've owned and really like them. I got a REALLY good, thick mat from LMC. The shipping is what kills you because they weigh a million pounds.

We acquired a bed mat from a local 4x4 parts store at a great price ($50 IIRC), and then cut it to match. We didn't have to cover shipping costs because the shop ordered the mat and had it delivered to their shop with their usual parts. You will not find a SWB mat that is an unroll and drop in setup. '73-87 style SWB mats will work, but they don't quite fit correctly and have the gas tank hose cutout. Luckily I was fortunate enough to have a spare SWB (torn down) that I could use the floor to make factory type cuts for a sure fit. The mat in my truck is top grade, and heavy; you won't have to worry about this flying out the back of the truck or having an object your hauling rub through the mat itself. I will get you the name of the company when I get home this evening. My truck is parked inside some times and outside sometimes.My truck is in original paint and surface rust. The bed needs to be sanded and painted but I really just want to protect it until I can afford to do it right. I have only had it for about a month and am just trying to get it road worthy for the time being .This truck has been sitting for many years and I am just working on it as the budget allows .I do plan to haul things such as fire wood and anything else that gets in my way. I just dont want to dent it up before time to paint the whole truck in the distant future. I would like to drive it for several years before I tear it down for restoration. I have other nice rides for show and shine , this one is going to be my daily driver and fixerupper . I am reading and learning alot from all of you here.
