how much has my truck been lowered?

I bought this just truck, just like it sits in this picture. The previous owner said it had been lowered, just didn't tell me how, and I was too ignorant to ask. I know it isn't lowered much but it does have a slight rake to it. As it sits now (on 235/70/15 tires) there is 30 in. from the ground to the bottom of the fender on the wheel well on the front and 31 in. on the back. There is 17 in from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender on the front and 19 in the back. Can anyone figure this out for me?

Re: how much has my truck been lowered?

looks stock to me too...the spacing in the wheel well seems to be normal--maybe he just put a slightly smaller tire and called it lowered?

Re: how much has my truck been lowered?

i agree that it looks stockish. Maybe it has been lowered 1" front and back. If i remember correctly my truck measured 31" in front and 32" in back from the ground to center of the wheel opening with the same size tires. However it's a leaf sprung 72 so who knows.

Re: how much has my truck been lowered?

It looks fairly stockish to me... YET, I went out and measured my stock 67 and with 235/75/15 I've got right on 32" up front almost right on 33.5" in the rear.

I think that 235/70/15 was actually the stock size tire for a 2wd, or something very close to that.

thanks, if you would measure it, I could really use some sort of base to figure on. I'm wanting to put 285/70 tires on the rear, and I'm trying to figure out how much that will lift the truck and if I'll need to stick with the 235/70s or switch to a 255/70 on the front. Started playing with the numbers a realized that the bigger tires would lift the truck (duh huh) just an inch or so, I dont want it to look silly. Just want to put more tire in that empty wheel well.

Re: how much has my truck been lowered?

I'd say maybe 2-2.5 front and 3 in the back, based on what mine looked like before i lowered it 2.5/4 with 255/60/15's

Re: how much has my truck been lowered?

Here's mine with 235-70/15 front and 255-70/15 rear. 2 1/2-4 drop.Keep in mind that these trucks are 40 years old and some sagging is expected so a 2 1/2 drop may only net a 1 1/2 drop from what you started (especially if you use new springs.
