Wondering if I could see some pics and different suggestions on how to install a CD player and speakers without cutting up the dash and doors. I was thinking about putting a head unit in the glove box and finding some surface mount speakers, but since I'm sure it's been done by many others, let's see how you did it.

You could mount it under the dash.

You might even consider one of those retro stereos that fits the dash, but has modern technology.

i just put them under the dash so i can reach them...
i've done the glovebox before hard to reach the volume....

I want to build a box under my dash that goes from the bottom of the dash to the carpet with the stereo in front and a speaker on each maybe have the sides at a angle so the speakers point twards the passenger and driver no pics but an idea

My wife just got me the USA-2 out of Classicparts.com, Really easy to install, detailed instructions came with it. I just plug in a 2GB mp-3 player and I have 1000 songs to choose from. No cassette tapes or cd's to carry around.
It looks very close to factory.
I had to replace the junk speakers that were in the doors(wasn't me), put in some Sony's, sounds great.
ClassicParts also has Kick panel speaker assemblies. I would have gone with them if my doors hadn't been hacked.

I to am looking for ideas for a sound system in my truck.I have a pair of speaker boxes for 6x9's that will fit under the seat-at least if I keep the bench.And I have thought about a tube sub...

6x9s in boxes under the seat....how does that sound? Would you face them forward or straight up?

ok these are not reall good picks but it's what I have

notice that the radio hole is filled with a radio delete plate that now has my 2 air ride guages cut into it..nothing cut except the delete panel..

the radio is mounted in the box with 2... 4" speakers ( 5's would also fit) I made it a box to close off the radio section...the seat side of the box is about 2" from the seat I then put a plate across the last 2" and mounted my air ride switches in it.....with the lid to the box down you see NOTHING...this keeps the switchs hidden and gives a place to throw stuff ..I also have 2 6x9 mounted to the seat springs with zip ties...lmao...I plan to build a box for them but it sounds very good IMAO....

Well I cut my dash, but did not cut the doors....I put the kickpanel pods with pioneers in them.

I finally decided on the approach. I bought one of those under dash mounts and some 6x9s for the doors...going to build some low profile enclosures for those out of aluminum sheet metal and will mount on the inside of the door to avoid cutting anything up.
