Project 69 Blown Gasser!
I finally found a Truck for my Big Block! I want to build this truck gasser style. It needs some work but I have nothing but time.

thats a nice looking big block so now the question is how big is it. This looks like the start to an intersting build subscribed.

454 .030 over with a GM 6-71 blower. The motor has a steel crank , H-beam forged rods, forged pistons and roller rockers with other goodies.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
That will be cool. I was going to do the same with a 69 long bed, straight axle, white wall slicks and all. Not really from the right era but I think the body style lends itself well to gassers.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
Straight axle , ET front spoked wheels and white walls out back on mags. The 69 is a little passed the era but what the hell , if I comes out like the picture I see in my head it should be badass.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
Years ago I had a 88 ford so I started using it as a log in name because every other name I came up was taken. I wondered how long it would be before someone picked up on that. lol

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
Well I made it down to the frame! Maybe now I can get it outside and get it power washed before it snows!
A few things I discovered along the way, 1) A cutting torch is a must have. 2) Air tools make life so much easier. 3) I didn't know these fenders had so many bolts! 4) Taking the cab off with a engine puller by yourself is still a pain. Anyone from michigan looking for a 68 307? |

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
It's been slow going but I did get alittle done. Frame sand blasted and sprayed with Summit Racings Frame coating, front end rebuilt, Power coated springs and disk brake conversion.

Nice build, great engine, sweet looking frame now, but what happened to the strait axle idea?

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
I gave it some thought and with the driving I will be doing and the roads around here I better stay with something that handles a little better.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
Picked up some new wheels and tires, Fronts are launcher wheels by Rocket 15x4.5 and the backs are a remake of Halibrands 15x10. I still have to finish up the rearend , waiting for my axle to get redrilled for 5 on 5 and a posi unit, anyone have one laying around for a 3:73 gear?

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
sweet!
why not go with the halibrads up front too?..I like that wheel, good choice! ps, go to the junkyard and get a sway bar from a 67-87 C-10/20/30 (bigger is better here) paint it and get new moog bushings for it, it'll help a BUNCH

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!
I think the Launcher wheels up front will give more of that wheels up Gasser look.
