Does my spid contain rare options?

I just got around to checking my SPID and it seems like it has some rare options, like the speed warning dash, which it still has. What other ones are rare? The front sway bar and radio is missing as is the 396. Has a small block now. Also, what is the "pick-up box floor?" It has a wood floor in it. What's in the Custom Sport Truck option?

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

That is nicly optioned. Interesting that the tach isn't spelled out... the cst was an apperance package. If the truck is a 67 it would have had bucket seats also. Seeing as how it had a 396 it would have been a 68.

Yes, it's a 68. Tach is oem as far as I can tell. Weird that it is not listed. Maybe it's part of the CST option?

It is listed, u16. the CST was more of an apperance package. Trim and chrome and such.

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

The tach code is listed - 04U16AG, its just not spelled out, its blank.
"pick-up box floor" is the wood bed floor option.

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

Why would they list it by number but not type out "tach" or whatever they usually typed out after the number?

They usually did, but sometimes they didn't. When discussing SPIDS you can never say "they always" or "they never". To many little inconsistencies.

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

the paint dtripe and door edge guards are between uncommon and rare, but don't really add to a vehicle's value.
A big block/auto in a half ton fleet truck with full guages and speedwarning all make it very desirable, add a wooden floor in the bed, sway bar, a/c and power steering... it is a pretty droolable truck.

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

Unfortunately, the only thing left is the speedwarning. I'm going to sell that and make this a low buck parts hauler for my 67 Camaro and future projects. Too bad the 396, sway bar and a/c are missing. Otherwise, I would restore it back to stock.

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

It seems odd that the sway bar would be removed.

If the price is right, you'd be amazed at what people would sell if they're in need...

Re: Does my spid contain rare options?

The sway bar brackets riveted to the frame are bent. Maybe the P/O nailed something head on and bent the bar and brackets. I'm going to try to straighten the brackets and throw a larger 73-87 bar on it later.
