Posi Help
I have a 12-bolt with 3.73 gears. I'm looking for some recommendations on a posi unit that I can use. I'm new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Posi Help
Welcome to the 67-72 Chevy Truck Board from West michigan!
The trucks were equipped originally with Eaton posi's but others will work. Here is a link to check out the Eaton posi's on. Jim http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/tomp.htm

Re: Posi Help
I have been looking at the Powertrax by Richmond gear and I think I'm going to buy one for my 4x4 http://www.jegs.com/p/Powertrax/Powe...44476/10002/-1

Re: Posi Help
I'm in this hobby for the long haul & I believe in rebuildable parts if possible. The Eaton unit is rebuildable while some others are not. Food for thought...

Re: Posi Help
The cheapest route would be to find a used eaton, put in some new clutches, and install.

Re: Posi Help
I put a POWERTRAX in my buddys jeep and it was an easy install, no respacing the carrier. But it is a locking diff with overrun ability, so it can make a little noise. It is not like a posi, but it will leave 2 even patches or get you out of a mud hole. If its a street driver and not a lot of hole shots I would go for the eaton.

Re: Posi Help
I have the Richmond Power Trax in both of my trucks. You know it will work when you need it but they are noisy. I know what it is and kinda like it.But the snapping and clunking bothers the wife when we pull into a cruise in and have to cut it sharp. This is the `70 C20 with a Dana 60. I pull a 24 ft camper with it so I like the added fail safe traction.
