Re: 67-68 rear ends
I guess I should have asked if it was a 1/2 or 3/4 ton. If a 3/4 ton then it should have an HO52 full floater.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
Okay, should be a corporate HO52 then unless changed in the last 40 years. If a leaf spring truck then there is a chance that it could be a Dana 60.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
If that is an 8 lugger than I would say that is a Dana 60.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
Hmmm, 6 lug in a C20? 6 lugs implies 1/2 ton or C10. Should be a 12 bolt or maybe a Dana 44. Need to see the rear cover to ID.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
I think they did in some of the leaf spring trucks. Is it a 10 bolt?

Re: 67-68 rear ends
I guess they could have put them in coil spring trucks. I have always seen them in leaf spring trucks.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
There were D44 put in these trucks. I personally have not seen one but have seen them pop up on this board several times. It is possible that a 6 lug D60 was swapped in later. On the dana's you can usually find a casting number in the webbing. Look for 44 or 60. If you had a picture of the cover we could at least ID if it is a dana.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
Looks like a Dana 60. My D-60 is 6 lug, but most are 8 lug. An original C20 would have 8 lugs every time.

I've only seen D-44's up front.
(A D-44 is my front axle)

Re: 67-68 rear ends
Definitely a Dana and based on the casting number it looks like a D-60. Here is a link to another reference to this axle:

Re: 67-68 rear ends
To get all the info about the dana 60 go to pirate4x4.com and look it up. They have everything listed. I have one of these out of a dodge and am upgrading my corporate 10 bolt in my 88 blazer. Those damn 38.5" tires have a way of destroying 1/2 ton axles. If you need the link to the d60 page let me know and ill look up the link in my bookmarks.

Re: 67-68 rear ends
Its a dana 60 for sure, there have been a few that popped up here but I have never seen an option for this on the 67-72 trucks. Heres another truck on the boards with one http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=3615814
