Does anyone know if the 72 style armrests will work on the earlier model door panels?

I have the 71 deluxe style panels, but prefer the 72 armrests.

I have the '72 arm rests on my '70. I'm not sure what door panels you have but I have the steel on in my and the '72 arm rests work great. Just had to modify the bolds and washers a little bit.
