show me center caps or covers

my son has rally wheels and beauty rings with center caps missing the middle emblems. Just the emblems are pricey. hoping you can show me a different look for christmas gift. They are 6 lug and if you can included where you got them would be great. caps, spinners, whatever you think is cool on your truck would like to see. thanks Gary

Re: show me center caps or covers

Hey Gary, nice to hear from ya!

here's the caps I bought to go on my 17" steelies. these are late 80's -early 90's GM 4x4 caps for thier rallyes. they are very clean, however, you will have to buy the correct lug nut/lug nut covers for them to make them work.

tcb-1,
Tell us again, what are those steelies off? They look like space saver spare rims, are they? I like them. Its a cool look especially in the understated gray finish. Powder coat or rattle can?

Re: show me center caps or covers

Dan,
they are Toyota FJ Cruiser rims. 17" x 7" wide x 5.25" b.s. I had a friend who was talented with a spray gun hit them with Dupont single stage with a clear on top of that.

they are different..... kind of what I was trying to accomplish.

any more center cap pics for Gary?

Re: show me center caps or covers

Actually, those center caps have bosses molded into the back of them and if you drill them out (and drill holes in your rims if no holes are already there) you can screw them onto any rim from the backside of the rim. Thus, eliminating the need for those special oem lug nuts and lug nut covers. That's what I did to get them to work with my oem 6 lug truck ralleys.

Re: show me center caps or covers

thanks nate, thats kind of what we are looking for. Do you know the size of those middle emblems? All i can find for the centers he has now are 4x4 at 3 1/2" . also they are around $23.00 each. That why i thought we might change it up with something different. MORE PICS WANTED PLEASE. don't forget to tell me where you got them if you don't mind a copy cat. Gary

Question Re: show me center caps or covers

Is that all you're looking for is the center emblems? I've got some out in the garage. Can't remember if they're Chevy or GMC? What diameter are they? I'll check and let you know what I have.

Question Re: show me center caps or covers

I checked, and I have two different caps. One set is silver with red GMC, and they're 3 1/4" diameter, and the other is black with gold GMC, and they're 3 1/2" diameter. LMK?

I think I would too.Or dog dish style caps. The only problem is the factory Chevy Rallies do not have "nubs" to mount Baby Moons or "poverty" caps.I didn't want to spend a mint on wheels and tires so for $500.00 I have factory Rallies and TA's.I don't care for the look of the factory centers. So I'm subscribing for ideas.

Re: show me center caps or covers

Tho 6-lug (4wd) ralleye wheel center caps emblems are the same size as the emblem in the center of 78-85 full wheelcovers. The ugly ones with pyramids as fake lugs. They are a gold bowtie rather than 4x4 that came on 4wds.

If all your looking for is the emblem, why not go to a printing or sticker store that they can custom make you whatever design/logo you want. Just provide them with the dimensions. Just a thought.

Re: show me center caps or covers

Hey Gary, sorry about the delay. The emblems are similar to the ones that Classic Parts sells, and I know what you mean, they are pretty expensive. The center caps I have on my wheels are (2) rear caps and (2) 4x4 "open" caps with filler plates.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: show me center caps or covers

ok heres my $.02 and I havn't tried it but know it will work

any BIG truck chrome shop sell axle covers..they come in every size including ones that fit our rallies ...they are held on by the edge of the lug nut ( on the big truck axle it uses the axle nut some times a 1/4 turn to get the point of the nut out will snug them up) I have moked up some that where the wrong size that we had laying around the shop...because they have a flat ring around the edge they resess into the center of the rally and round out about even with the bump out on the wheel..they looked Kool but they where about a 1/4" to big so I need to get to the truck shop ..About 60 miles away..to get the right size

heres a link to what I'm taking about remeber they come in about a million sizes, styles also they come in plastic steel or stainless...I think the steel would be best for what we would use them for
