I have for sale an original tilt column out of my 68. I don't need this column as I will be going with an Ididit tilt column. This column is in excellent shape. I cleaned it up for the pics. It was just taken out of my truck 3 days ago. I didn't take the steering wheel off because I don't have a steering wheel puller at home, but I will have it removed prior to shipping. I will also remove the levers, but will throw in all 3 of them if you want them. $260 shipped in the USA will get it. I prefer Paypal. Sorry, no personal checks.

That`s a good part and price.But,are you sure it`s original to the`68?I`ve always understood`69 to be the first year for Comfortilt.

You know I wondered that from the looks of the steering wheel. To be quite honest Special K, I am not sure of it to be from a '68 and you may be correct of '69 being the first year as I am very new to the game. But, I do know it is an original column and I assumed it to be '68 since it came out of my truck. Now the p.o. may have retro-fitted it from a '69, I don't know. Nonetheless, it is an excellent part and in darn good shape for its age. It's just I am more of a custom guy than original and don't need it and figured I could help someone else out. Sorry for the misrepresentation guys. Thanks for the help Special K

It doesn't have the shift indicator either.. didn't truck tilts have those? could it possibly be from a van or motorhome truck?

It looks nice either way though...

First of all,I`m sorry to have to pick on your part.But,msgross is right.I think that`s a post`72 column because of not having a shift indicator.I wondered about the column/dash grommet and lever knobs being later ones and now I see in the first picture the wiring is spliced.Sorry to bust your bubble.I`m sure your intentions were good.

Special K, my bubble isn't bursted. No big deal and I'm not a sensitive guy at all. If it's no good...it's no good. I can let it sit right were it is. My project will go on whether I sells it or not. I appreciate the help and I never intended to push it off as something it wasn't. I do apologize for my lack of knowledge on the subject though. Thanks for the help guys, no offense taken. If someone wants it, make me an offer, if not...it will get tossed out like alot of other stuff will.

looks like a 67-68 full size car. maybe impala or some B,O,P tilt. It still should bring decent money.

I think it's a good piece to use though. A guy that has a floor shift could easily shave off the shifter nub and JBweld the hole like I did mine.

how hard would this be to hook up in a 67?

Would you happen to have any pics of it installed? When you were sitting in the seat how close was the steering wheel to you? Were any of the mounting brackets modified or will it simply bolt in like a factory column would? If it will work in my 70 I am interested and I'm local.

It would be a direct fit. It was in my '68.

This is still a cool column to put in a truck.I was just making sure we all knew what it actually was or more like wasn`t...that`s all.it`s still a tilt column that fits right into one of our trucks.

When I first came on this board I bought a 4spd tilt from a fairly well liked member in TX.The price was great so I went for it.I also was 1st to respond early in the morning.I don`t recall if he claimed it was factory or if I just assumed it was since it was.But,he also never mentioned it was modified into a floor shift with who knows what all parts.He just said he bought it of Ebay and decided not to use it.I had to tear into it and donate parts from the 4spd non-tilt column I was replacing.It had wires to nowhere.I just fixed and used it and will never buy from that guy again.It`s important to know what you have and let others know.That`s my concern.Like I said,I feel your intentions were good.

the shaft on this column is a larger diameter than a truck .You will have to use a intermediate shaft from a car to make the connection from the bottom of the column down to the gear box.

I still have the intermediate shaft from it that was in my truck that will go to the future buyer if it sells and he wants it.
