Re: 68-71 alternator brackets
Actually I'm not sure. On the 72 stuff counting the long round rod that runs from back of alternator to the head it is 3 total but I'm not sure on the earlier models. I'm pretty sure if someone has the main 2 it would work for us Paul

Re: 68-71 alternator brackets
Heres what I have, they have already been powdercoated semi gloss black, your choice of the upper bracket, one has 3 extra 3/8 holes & the other has some mild pitting.
$90 shipped Tom

Re: 68-71 alternator brackets
Paul, be sure and confirm what year big block they are needed for as 68/69 and 70/71 upper brackets are different where they attach at the intake. The earlier 68/69 "tall" runner type intakes have a boss/tab cast on the front of the intake for mounting the upper alt. bracket, the 70/71's had a flatter intake and no boss so the upper bracket attaches to the left fwd. intake manifold mounting combination bolt/stud.

Re: 68-71 alternator brackets
Tom the brackets you have will work..except price. Do you have a set not powder coated. Going on an old mans truck and need to spend $45-50 shipped.
Thanks Paul |

Re: 68-71 alternator brackets
Classic Bowties, That is good councel. The truck is a 68 but the engine etc is out of 1972. We have the correct 72 brackets but really do not want to use them on this truck. Thanks Paul
