stock oil pressure gauge

my truck is a 1/2 ton 72 short fleetside. well I have been wondering about the oil pressure gauge, for 1/2 tons they are 60 psi. did the larger 1 tons have 80 psi ? and I have tried serching a few times to google and here to find one. with not much luck I thought I'd ask on here if there is such a gauge for the instrument clusters that will fit right in without mods. and would the sending unit need to match the gauge? where can i find the gauge to purchase? oh I forgot to explain, allthis info would be for a mechanical gauge not electric
thank you for helping me with these questions

Re: stock oil pressure gauge

The larger trucks came with 80 psi gauges and they are a direct interchange using your existing line and dash.

Re: stock oil pressure gauge

I think the 80lb gauges were used on big block trucks, regardless of series. I have two instument clusters that I pulled from large trucks because they had vacuum gauges. Both of them have 60lb gauges.

This might explain why my gauge has always registered low.... (Big block truck with 350)

Re: stock oil pressure gauge

I think they only make new ones of the 60lb variety. I bought a couple of used ones from a board member a while back. I would put up a wtb thread on the board. I'm sure you will be able to find one!
