High Torque Starter for 400BB
Anybody running a high torque starter on a stock BB400?....or any recomendations on a type or brand to use?

I do. They are just the small, one wire starter. You can buy them in Summit the cheapest I guess. I do not driver mine everyday so I can not tell you which one to get.

I have the Ebay Skip White red mini starter on my mild 67 396 and it works fine and was a good price. I believe it's made by Procomp in Australia.

I've got the 90's factory-style mini on my 454. Works like a champ. I think they came on the vortec motors.

I have a hi-torque starter on my small block and love it. It is a Hitachi, and I plan on putting one on my BBC when I get the cash.

I installed one on my 12.1 bbc in my 68, its a powermaster. and spins it over soooo much better than a factory starter, a little pricey compared to some brands, but at times you get what you pay for...
