Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

I'll probably be heading out there to check out the prices on some projects. With the economy in the crapper, I'm hoping someone is looking to take it in the shorts on something I might be interested in. Not sure what the next one will be, but I'm itching to get something to tinker with. Not sure if I'm going to buy a newer truck and an old hot rod, or vice versa...

If any members are going to be there, put a sign in your window or something.

I figured the same thing about Brothers...boy was I wrong! You wouldn't know the economy was in the crapper, seeing about a thousand people at their parking lot sale.

Re: Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

I may go if I am up early and have nothing to do.
Last time I went, I was looking for stuff.
If I go this weekend, I will check out the cars/trucks.

Lotta crap for sale there though, kinda disappointing

Re: Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

I plan on going. I haven't been in months due to a conspiracy of events. As I write this I am in a hotel in Denver - a last minute trip - but I'll be back tomorrow by midnight...if the eather cooperates. Pretty friggin cold right now and threatening a snow storm.
I'm hoping to see a decently complete '41-'46 to check out small details for my '46.

I'm wondering if there will be any parts for my '46? I kinda doubt it unless I find it by sorting thru the "piles of junk" mentioned above. Also kinda/sorta looking for an interesting vintage cooler.

I wish, but got homework as always. I only have to suffer 5 more months though then it is back to the truck full time.

Re: Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

Yeah, now that I opened my mouth, I see it might rain this weekend. I used to go out there rain or shine, but just lost the desire to be cold and soaked if it isn't absolutely necessary. We'll see what the weekend brings.

That many? I used to go with my dad a lot when I was a kid. I quit going a while back, as it usually turns out to be a wasted day. That 23 window rocks. I had a friend in high school that had one (maybe he still does?)

Re: Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

its Saturday today and everything looks good for pomona's swapmeet, It might be a waste of time if you don need parts or dont have the spirit of the american hobby !

even if I dont need parts I always show up to the swapmeet exept when it rains, Driving my cars VW's or C10s to the swapmeet at 3: or 4: AM is a blast.......

Re: Anybody going to Pomona this weekend?

I have the spirit of the American hobby. I think the swapmeet lost it. Just about everything available at Pomona is available on E-bay at less than half the cost. On top of that, no entrance fees, no parking fees, and no $10 cup of Keystone from a keg.

X2 on that!

It seems like the only part of the swap meet that has kept interesting is the Vdub section, the rest of the swap meet is mostly people selling garbage. I don't meen parts either, so it is to me just like any other neighborhood swap meet. Complete with your pirate CD/DVD vendors blasting Ranchera music.

The show part is the most interesting place for me these days.
