New guy from south central texas
Hey guys my names Josh. I am originally from northern michigan, but after my tour in the military, and meeting my wife my parents decided to escape the cold and move down here to were I was last stationed. So I ended up staying here. I do miss it up there tho.
Anyway, about my truck! My baby is a 87 silverado K30 4x4. Yup, true 1 ton. Dana 60 up front, and 14bff in the back. 4.56 gears locked. Its a granny 4 speed (465 I think with a np205 tcase attached?) I can never remember the number for the tranny/tcase. Also, I got sick of all the damn v-belts, and found a 95 recently rebuilt 350 single serpintine setup that we swapped into it a few months ago... Ran great for a while, but is having a few issues now (I will post that question in the right place later)... a few from mudfest Vid of truck running after swap. a pic of the wifes beater... that is all I got for now... I have more of the engine swap, and stuff that I have done at home (working right now, well kinda lol). Last edited by RednecK30; 12-03-2009 at 12:13 PM. |

Re: New guy from south central texas
Thanks bud. Yeah I moderate a local offroad forum (www.saoffroad.com), and allot of the younger guys go out by themselves or do stupid stuff (like the explorer guy), and I get calls at 3 or 4am to come out for a rescue...
So I make a few bucks and save their ass... Well the explorer we had to throw on the goose neck flatbed, and I had to drag him home (which filled my tank)... But I have learned my lessons the hard way and had to do all the hard work to fix whatever I destroyed so I am much more thoughtful of my decisions... Thank you for the comments tho. I absolutely love this truck! believe it or not I got it for 800 bucks.
