Greetings From a New Member
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I've got a 63 C10 Fleetside Long Bed that I was going to sell but have decided to keep it and finish it the way I had originally planned.
It still has the 230/3 on the tree but I'm building a nice 283 w/X-C8 cross ram and will be installing an M20 4-speed as well. I've converted it to front disc brakes and it's currently lowered 4 1/2" in the front an 6" in the rear. I will be changing the wheels to something more vintage as well. The pictures make it look teal but it's actually a darker shade of green. I'm thinking about naming it "No Respect" because as solid and nice as it is, I couldn't even get one person to come and see it in person when I was trying to sell it. Looking forward to hanging out and sharing info - more pics/details to come. |

Welcome from the Northwest. Nice looking truck, I'm glad you're keeping it. Nobody showing up is pretty common right now. Everyone is so strapped for money there are tons of bargains available, and not enough people with money in their pockets to take advantage of the good deals.

Re: Greetings From a New Member
Hey welcome to the forums, that's a very nice truck there and it does look teal. Is that a factory color or close to it kinda looks like a GMC color but just guessing.
your truck has nice sheet metal hard to find these days. Post some pic's of your progress with the motor switch.---Vernski |

Re: Greetings From a New Member
Glad to see you changed your mind about selling. If it wasn't for this forum I would have sold mine before I bought it. I think everyone would agree to see more pics (interior, motor) just for fun. There is a plethora of info here to guide you on your endeavor.

Re: Greetings From a New Member
Thanks for all the welcomes and compliments.
I've got to pick the rotating assembly up tomorrow from being balanced and I will get some more pics on here soon. I had a 68 C10 years ago that I had to get rid of when the wife and I got our first place. I miss that truck a lot but let me see if I can get this one done and create some new memories! Welcome to the forum
I'm happy to hear you decided to keep the truck, I know you'll be glad you did. It's a real nice looking one too. There's not too many of those X-C8 intakes around....I've got a polished one....one of these days I'll put it on something.

Re: Greetings From a New Member
I tell you what guys, I haven't seen a truck on here yet that I don't like. They're all cool in their own way regardless if it's a $100,000 show piece or a $50.00 field piece.
I took a little free time tonight and file fit the rings, I'll probably do the final assembly on the heads tomorrow but final engine assembly will be a week or two. My nephew wants to come over and watch me do this one and then I'll walk him through the assembly of his first short-block. (He's putting one together for a T-Bucket) It's been a while since I was in the automotive field and even though I used to teach engine assembly day in and day out - I still enjoy it the most. Oh yeah, someone had a question about the paint color on mine. It was painted that color when I got it but it's not the original color. I can see traces of what looks like a GM orange on the lower firewall so I suspect that may be the original color. |
